Simon, a leading Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic surgeon specialises in treating disorders of the knee. This includes the management of sports injuries, anterior knee pain, patella instability and arthritis. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh
in 2015. He then embarked on two sub-specialty Fellowships expanding his expertise in the management of soft tissue injuries, patella-femoral disorders and joint preserving solutions for arthritis. He joined the prestigious Wrightington Sports Knee Fellowship Programme in 2016 developing expertise to manage complex multi-ligament ligament injuries and patients with failed reconstructions through revision and osteotomy surgery. 2017, in Bristol he undertook his second Fellowship at the renowned Avon Orthopaedic Centre
acquiring expertise to manage disorders of the patella-femoral joint (anterior knee pain and instability). Under the guidance of Jonathon Eldridge
he learnt the Bereiter trochleoplasty technique for the management of sever dysplasia. Simon is one of a handful of Surgeons in the North West of England to be Fellowship trained in this surgery. Appointed as a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Knee Surgeon at Aintree University Hospital in 2018 he now works in the Major Trauma Centre regularly managing patients with complex knee injuries including articular fractures and multi-ligament injuries.
