Social Impact Photography, a collaboration with The Booth Centre, Manchester, 2018.

Inspirational People was a collaboration between The Booth Centre, Manchester, and myself back in 2018 that created a touring exhibition celebrating the strengths of people who have experienced homelessness.

Portraits. At its core the project featured individuals who visited The Booth Centre. Each participant posed for a portrait that sought to capture their individuality. They show a proper sense of pride in who they are and what they have achieved.

Artwork. Alongside each picture is a piece of artwork, poetry, or prose, which showcases their artistic abilities. Many of them contain messages of hope that they would like to share with the public.

The exhibiton showed at several locations, Manchester Piccadilly Train Station, Manchester Airport and Media City.

Social impact photography is about connection. It’s about creating images that spark empathy and understanding. With the Booth Centre, that meant photographing real people with real experiences—individuals rebuilding their lives, finding community, and being seen with dignity.

The work matters. Visual storytelling has the power to shift perceptions and challenge stigma. By collaborating with organisations like the Booth Centre, I aim to use photography as a tool for advocacy—bringing visibility to important issues and amplifying voices that deserve to be heard.

If you’re interested in supporting meaningful work or collaborating on projects that drive social change, I’d love to connect.
