Great Places Housing Group’s new development at Highfield Road in Little Hulton.
Great Places Housing Group exists to improve the lives of the people living in their 24,000 homes across the North West and Yorkshire. They are much more than just a landlord, providing a wide-range of services and promoting partnership work to create vibrant, sustainable communities.
Great Places’ new development at Highfield Road in Little Hulton will deliver a range of tenures including a supported housing scheme for adults with learning disabilities and two and three bedroom houses for affordable rent.
The City Council identified a need for this type of supported housing and Great Places have worked in partnership to deliver this important new development. Potential customers are living in unsuitable accommodation, some of them outside of Salford and away from their families; this scheme will enable future residents to live close to friends and family in new homes which meets their support needs.
The planning applications for Highfield Road were submitted in late December 2020 and planning approval was granted in May 2021. Work commenced on site in early February 2023 and is expected to complete in March 2024.
The land was acquired from Salford City Council and the scheme will be funded through Homes England, Greater Manchester Combined Authority, Salford City Council and Great Places.
The development is being built by P Casey & Co Ltd (who were procured from the Innovation Chain North framework). They have made a social value pledge worth approximately £280,000 which will be used to deliver positive outcomes for Great Places’ customers and the local community through the Community Investment team.
