Stoke-on-Trent YMCA promote their impressive range of support services with new photography.

I was last here 5 years ago shooting a range of pictures to promote the work of the YMCA in Stoke. The charity wanted it’s stock of images updating to include some new initiatives and refresh their current collection of promotional photography. I spent another inspirational two days working with the staff and clients of the charity. The work they undertake, with some of the most vulnerable people is admirable, providing a lifeline to people who often arrive in crisis with little support and direction.

Stoke-on-Trent YMCA is a community-based organization that provides a wide range of services and programs to help individuals and families in need. The organization's mission is to empower people to reach their full potential, regardless of their background or circumstances.

One of the key services provided by Stoke-on-Trent YMCA is housing. The organization offers a variety of housing options, from emergency shelter to supported living, to help individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless. The housing is safe, secure, and affordable, and is staffed by trained professionals who are dedicated to helping residents achieve stability and independence.

In addition to housing, Stoke-on-Trent YMCA offers a range of other programs and services. These include job training and employment services, education and training programs, and health and wellness initiatives. The organization also operates a food bank, providing food and other essential items to individuals and families who are struggling to make ends meet.

One of the unique features of Stoke-on-Trent YMCA is its focus on community building. The organization offers a variety of activities and events that bring people together, including sports and recreation programs, arts and cultural events, and volunteer opportunities. These programs help to foster a sense of belonging and connection among individuals and families, and provide opportunities for personal growth and development.

Their youth campus is regarded as one of the best YMCA centres in the country and won the Youth Matters YMCA of the Year Award for 2014!

More than 1500 people use the YMCA every month from a wide customer base – young people, families, children, community groups, sports teams, vulnerable adults, youth clubs, business meetings, art classes because they find support and encouragement there. It is a place where young people, families and our communities can get access to services and resources that will help them develop a better future for themselves and others.
