Matt Priestley is a seasoned professional photographer based near Altrincham, Greater Manchester, bringing over 25 years of experience to the photographic industry. Inspired by a journey through India, Nepal and South East Asia during 1993/4, Matt transitioned to a full-time freelance career in 2000, developing a diverse portfolio across multiple photographic disciplines.

His areas of specialization include corporate headshots and portraits, industrial and commercial photography, public relations, conference and event photography, healthcare and medical imaging, as well as educational photography for schools and colleges. He’s had four exhibitions over the last 30 years. The first, a travelogue, that started his career. All colour and shown in 1995 at a cafe bar in Fallowfield. The second, shown at the Manchester Bar, Dukes 92 in 1998 was a portrait of Simon Green, aka Betty Legs Diamond who performs at Funny Girls Cabaret club in Blackpool. These pictures were taken as part of a photographic City and Guilds qualification, undertaken 96-98 and consisted of 20 hand printed black and white framed prints.  The third, hosted by the Richard Goodall Gallery in Manchester was in 2002, and part of a collaborative exhibition looking at contrasting images of New York and Manchester. The fourth, “The Water Rates” was shown at Arison Gallery, Chorlton some 16 years ago, comprising a collection of abstract images looking at water, light and movement. During 2018/19 he collaborated with Manchester’s homeless charity, The Booth Centre, producing a book and public exhibition that challenged common stereotypical thinking around homelessness and the people it affects.
